LIFEART STUDIO

1. Escape scene from chapter 7 - starting from two falling bodies, Nick - face bloody is panicking and not good with the horse. Noise of motorcycles and shouts in German closing in. Looking forward we can vaguely see two figures getting off their horse and crossing a bridge by foot. Nick now rides more frantically, mumbling to himself “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry” and shouts “Claudia!!”. Arrives at a rope bridge, gets off, Nick is clearly afraid of heights, manages to go through most of it, gets shot and falls.

2. Nick in the airplane deep in thoughts. We see his tidy demeanor dealing with the stuartists towards landing in Mumbai. 

3. While waiting for his luggage he gets a phone call from his  lawyer. The soon to be ex-wife filed another claim. Nick must be back in 10 days for deposition, otherwise he loses his house and most bank accounts. 

4. Chaotic scene but Nick manages to board the train to Goa, talks with old lady about his daughter Claudia and their backstory.

5. Arrives to Goa, finds his way to Guesthouse, 

6. Awkward meeting with Claudia and her friends

7. Full moon party - tripping and connecting with Claudia

8. Still during the party - Nick, tripping, calls his soon to be ex-wife with ideas of peace and harmony. She is nasty and conversation goes sour - Nick throws his phone to the ocean in a moment of anger - then freaks out running to the water looking for it

9. Nick searches for phone next day

10. Nick and Claudia on motorcycles funny beat with cops and bakshis

11. Sunset on the beach (group setting) - Leo has an incident with the brother of one of the two girls he is transporting; 

12. Nick and Claudia have a heart to heart conversation prior to his return home ; Nick tells Claudia about his divorce. Leo takes a picture of the group and is texting with someone. Nick is hungry - dreams of some meat. Leo tells him about a place nearby where you can get anything. Nick: “Ribs?”, Leo: “Short Ribs”

13. Yulia, Claduia, Leo and Nick in a local village “restaurant”. Claudia in a heated discussion with Nick on meat eaters vs vegetarian.  Next thing we hear commission: restaurant owner running after a small screaming pig with a knife, with the intention of cooking it for Nick. The Pig runs between the dinners (all sitting on a floor setting). Claudia pushes him to cancel the order! But Nick, stubborn, won’t have it! He wants his meat! However by the time it is all over, Nick is disgusted by the act of slaughtering and they all take off running.

14. Following afternoon (group setting) - Claudia and Yulia plan their next leg to Rishikesh, Leo suggests they take a trek up the Himalayas - they offer him to join but he can’t ; 

15. Nick says his goodbyes - Claudia cries ; Nick decides to stay for the Vipassana - everyone is cheering and mocking him, while Leo is not happy

16. Flashback: Little Claudia awaits her dad that doesn’t arrive

17. Nick, Claudia, Yulia and another friend on the train to Rishikesh; Funny beat between Nick and a Sadhu with his arm raised

18. The group arrives to Rishikesh, finds their way to the Ashram

19. They sign into the retreat, meet Leo

20. Eight days of funny retreat scenes showing Nick not fitting in 

21. Nick bathroom scenes - trying to talk to anyone

22. Nick getting escorted out of the ashram ; Claudia is worried and Leo whispers something in her ear

1. (Saturday) Nick just got kicked out of the Ashram- goes to a nearby coffee shop ; 

2. meets Shena and her friends; Shena refers him to a good guesthouse and writes the details and her own phone number on a note and gives Nick

3. (Sunday) Nick enjoys the sites and sounds of Rishikesh ; passes a memorial service on the river on sunset ; 

4. Walks nearby a phone store. considers it but keeps going, walks into silk store, meets young traveler, 

5. joins her friends - they smoke a chillum ; none of them knows of the trek he’s telling them about in the Himalayas ; they advise him to check weather conditions and give him a small piece of G’aras.  

6. Nick runs away from angry cow ; meets Baba who tells him he needs to sacrifice and fight his inner ego ; Nick is deeply touched realizing how he’s done wrong all these years to his loved ones ; 

7. Nick in his hotel room, a couple is having very loud sex next door. He then calls the only number he remembers by heart: his home in LA. His wife answers. Nick needs her help but she is sure he is in some kind of a sex retreat… “dont ever call me again! I’m blocking your number!!” she hangs up. Frustrated, Nick is cumming loudly along with his neighbors

8. (Monday) Next day Nick leaves his room all shaved and tidy (on his way to pick up Claudia)  at the same time as his neighbors leave their room. It turns out it is a gay couple. They give him a big smile - Nick is embarrassed 

9. (Monday) Nick arrives to meet Claudia after retreat but she is not there ; we learn that she and Yulia left the night before

10. Nick aimlessly searching through the town, ashram, police station - but no luck

11. Nick goes back to Ashram, demands to talk with the manager. He Rubs him off the wrong way, learns no new info and is thrown out of the Ashram again.

12. Nick goes back to police station, annoys the officer and gets arrested, call Shena 

13. Shena comes to get him out, Nick tells her what's going on, she thinks there might be many explanations as to why Claudia left early ; 

14. Shena reveals that she is an ex-cop and can help Nick. She makes a few calls to find out info about Claudia

15. in the meantime she and Nick sit in a restaurant ; the conversation becomes personal and emotional - the two connect ; 

16. they continue to Shena’s hotel room and make love

17. (Tuesday) Shena gets video feed showing Claudia and Yulia leaving with a guy on a bike ; Nick and Shena puzzled 

18. they rush out of the hotel brainstorming, just as Leo and Claudia ride by them ; Nick tells Shena on their plans to go up the Himalayas, and she gets info that the rider is a small time crook named Leo ; 

Flashback: Nick remembering Leo’s behavior from the Goa party, and the girl that was taken from the table by her brother some days after that. Back to now: They realize Claudia is riding with a dangerous man

1. (Back in time to Saturday) Claudia in the midst of a meditation session in the Ashram ; hears commotion, sees her dad escorted out, Leo whispers in her ear: “Don’t worry I’ll help you” ; Claudia is uneasy

2. (Sunday morning) Claudia asks the Ashram manager about her dad but doesn’t get answers; she slips a note into Leo’s hand and he nods in agreement

3. (Sunday night) Claudia and Yulia sneak out of the Ashram to Yulias dismay. Leo picks them up on his bike

4. They search around the busy town streets for Nick but with no luck

5. They go spend the night at a guest house of a buddy of Leos ; There they meet a group of friends we’ve met in Goa and learn that some of them are heading back there the day after  tomorrow. Sexual tension is building between Leo and the girls

6. In that group setting, a young traveler who sits behind Leo (facing Claudia and Yulia who are sitting next to each other) seems to  be very interested in the two girls who are flirting with Leo. When they get up to use the bathroom, the girl sneaks out following them.

7. Claudia and Yulia in the bathroom talking in excitement about Leo. The girl approaches the bathroom and almost opens the door to it when Leo puts his hand on her mouth from behind,  turning  her  over, and signaling “shhhhh” with his finger over his mouth. The girl, terrified, quickly walks away head down, and the two girls just come out and see Leo. Leo: ”I got us the room key girls, let’s go up”.

8. At the hotel room at night - Leo, Claudia and Yulia are having a sexual moment that ends because of Yulia

9. (Monday morning) the group keeps searching ; 

10. At one point a cute monkey starts following them. Claudia is mesmerized by the cuteness just as the monkey snathces Claudia’s hand bag and takes off. Leo shows some great athleticism jumping over fences and outsmarting the monkey who ends up letting go of the bag. They all laugh

11. On a lunch break Leo suggest Nick might have gone up to the mountains to wait for the girls, and that he needs to be in a nearby village and won’t mind giving Claudia a lift (Yulia will have to take the bus); the girls brush off the idea that slowly starts appealing to Claudia 

12. The group separates for a last search attempt. 

13. Yulia walks nearby a loud religious ceremony, it seems 3 men are following her ; Claudia and Leo search separately but very quickly Leo surprises Claudia and the two search together. They sneak in a first kiss on a corner of the busy bazaar. Claudia is blushed and happy, goes towards the river and Leo goes to get a juice on the street corner: “will meet you in a second”.

14. Yulia is almost raped (most of it from Claudia’s POV): Claudia arriving towards the river (after the kiss) sees it, tries to help, getting harassed herself 

15. but manages to escape back out of the alley, panicking- asking for help but people just keep walking, meets up with Leo who runs and saves Yulia, and shows his brutal side when beating her attackers

16. (Monday evening) Claudia tells Yulia she wants to go back to Goa; Claudia won’t leave her father alone, and they decide to split ways

17. (Tuesday early morning) Leo gets an urgent tip early in the morning that he better leave town ASAP (you know who you beat up?!) 

18. (Tuesday morning) they rush out, Claudia and Yulia say their loaded goodbyes. 

19. Yulia takes off walking towards the nearby train station with a bunch of the friend travelers we met before ; 

20. Leo and Claudia get on the bike and start riding outside of Risikesh, passing by Nick and Shena just as they are running out of Shena’s hotel room

(story timeline is now back in sync)

1. (Tuesday morning) Nick and Shena hurry towards the car rental, stumble into Yulia who tells them Claudia just gone off with Leo 

2. Claudia and Leo riding the road up towards the Himalayas, make a stop on the Ganges ; Leo tells her of a beautiful village that he’d love to show her that is just on the way to where her dad is probably waiting, she agrees and they make love

3. Nick and Shena on the road up the mountain in a small rental car. Shena is being bossy, Nick insults her: “I understand why your husband divorced you”. This sparks Shena on a talking spree about “weak men”. At the heat of the argument Nick bumps into an army jeep. 

4. An army officer gets out of the jeep. Nick is being impatient, the situation escalates. Shena steps out of the car. The officer, agitated, searches Nick and finds a small ball of Hash. Nick argues with the officer and throws the hash ball down to the Ganges - undermining it. This gets the officer mad, he calls his soldier friends.

5. The soldiers now tell Nick they’ll take him in, and start searching the car. With that Shena is really mad, and Nick is like a little kid that got caught in a series of lies. 

6. Shena changes gears, and talks authoritatively with the officer: “who is your commander? What platoon are you? I’ll make a few calls and you’ll find yourself out of a job by tomorrow”. They let them go.

7. They drive in tense silence. Get stuck in a traffic road block. Motorcycle goes by them ; Nick recognizes Claudia and runs after them, the bike takes off

8. (Tuesday evening) Leo and Claudia stop for the night in a cave under a rock

9. Nick and Shena go to Sanjee for some info, ammunition and a place to stay for the night...

10. Sanjee is introduced, and tells them about Spiti Valley, Pure blooded Aryans, and pregnancy tourism ; Nick is not taking this very well.  We see Leo and Claudia in the cave making love, while Sanjee’s V.O. explains his German daughter might have come to impregnate

11. Nick and Sanjee almost fight, Sheena breaks it off and surprised she didn’t know anything about this with all her years as a Human Trafficking detective ; Sanjee explains he investigated this 30 years ago, but the whole thing was covered up by the government.

12. Nick and Shena outside bonfire - tells him about why she got kicked out of the force: She couldn’t save her nephew who fell into prostitiution, became obsessed with trying to save women, stepped on too many toes. And now here she is again, this is simply her calling. 

13. (Wednesday morning) Claudia waking up in cave, Scorpions, Leo saves her, they laugh and kiss, Leo is starting to really like this girl

14. Nick and Shena get gear, weapons, maps and a bike. They see the helicopter and discuss it

15. Nick and Shena riding through the mountains

16. Leo and Claudia riding through the mountains, Leo knows all kind of secret hidden ways

17. (Wednesday afternoon) Nick and Shena reach a stream, ditch the 4 wheeler bike and continue by foot up the stream

18. (Wednesday sunset) Leo and Claudia arrive to Spiti Valley, Claudia is intrigued by the way the locals look, then the secret village opens before her eyes

19. Nick and Shena take a food break after a long and tiring day ; Shena tries to get close to Nick but he pushes her away; All of the sudden sounds behind them. Locals walking. They’ve reached the village!

20. Leo and Claudia inside the village. First look at this place. They are being invited to stay for a celebratory dinner; Claudia is ok with spending the night here and going to see her dad only tomorrow   

21. Nick and Shena follow the villagers, see a far away village, stop to devise a plan of attack; then get caught ; Camera rises up - This is NOT Spiti Valley

1. (Wednesday Evening) Special dinner party in the village, first time we meet some of the villagers ; Peter gives a speech 

2. Nick and Shena being walked into a hut, awaiting to meet the village’s chief 

3. (Thursday morning) Claudia and Leo stroll the village, he tells her of his years in the village and they have a romantic moment (we walk next to main offices - the only place from where one can make a phone call); Peter watching them from his balcony full of jealousy 

4. Nick and Shena meet the Village Chief ; he tells them of the blooded history his village has with Spiti Valley, and he is willing to help them

5. (Thursday afternoon) Claudia sits under a tree overlooking the village ; Maria approaches and tells her that things used to be different in this place ; 

6. Peter arrives and introduces himself to Claudia. Maria takes off. Peter is both fatherly and freaky 

7. (Thursday evening) Nick and Shena on their way from the wrong village to Spiti valley, they village chief hooked them up with some food and water and a donkey. They are tired and defeated ;

8. Nick needs to make a stop for #2 ; has a funny interaction with the donkey

9. Claudia asks Leo to leave and he agrees ; on their way out they are called in by Peter

10. Going up to his chambers, Claudia is tricked into drinking drug induced water ; Leo confronts Peter ; Peter tells Claudia she cannot leave, Leo won’t help her and walks away

11. Nick and Shena reach an obstacle, Nick slips, hangs on backpack between heaven and earth; dislocates his shoulder to get free ; pulled up to safety by Shena ; Nick bruised, rams his shoulder into a rock to put it back in place and faints

12. (Friday morning) Claudia wakes up in a small room, puking, her clothes has been changed to the village uniform; tries to call mom but no reception 

13. Maria walks in with tea which Claudia drinks. She then tries to talk with Maria but she leaves without speaking. 

14. Claudia looks out the window - she now sees the village for all its real twisted nature - Maria standing far away, Claudia sees her and cries

15. Nick wakes up disoriented, his wounds bandaged ; he realizes everything Shena has been doing for his and thanks her. She kisses him softly and they get close again ; Shena thinks this is the end of their journey 

16. Nick doses into faint/sleep - has a nightmare about how he always let Claudia down; wakes up with renewed strength to go save her

17. (Friday afternoon) Claudia - now drugged again from the tea, is being walked into the Hamam, 

18.  In the Hamam she is stripped out of her close and forced to watch a sexual ritual; Peter closely behind her - explaining to her the base of their cult ; Claudia paralyzed by fear. Erica looking in envy

19. Nick and Clauida arrive at Spiti Valley ; 

20. split up to collect intel  ; 

21. 3 Aryans come towards Nick’s location ; Leo - one of the three - keeps going up the hill. His friends call him in German and start walking up towards him. Nick turns around only to see Leo staring at him in amazement

1. (Friday night) Silent take off with Leo and Nick, Leo diverts his friends and pulls them away from Nick, then turns back his way

2. Nick and Leo fight; Shena arrives and breaks it off ; Leo tells them everything and that he wants to help. They accept having no other choice. 

3. He goes down to get them some food; Nick and Shena are waiting; Shena doesn’t trust Leo but Nick does.

4. Leo comes back with 5 more Aryans ; Nick helps Shena escape by coming out towards the Aryans

5. Aryans looking for Shena; she manages to kick a dog off the cliff; the stop looking for her

6. Nick taken to the village

7. (Saturday 1am) Leo updates Peter on the capture; Peter gives him instructions to scare him then let him go

8. Leo goes back to where Nick is held, asks everyone to leave the room. Thomas confronts Leo about leaving the room. After an argument he leaves and NIck tortures Nick (that’s what we hear from the outside)

9. (Saturday Dawn) Claudia, drugged, walks to offices, 

10. breaks in, calls mom, noises outside, voices getting closer, mom picks up and says “hello” just as Claudia has to leave the room before getting caught.

11. She leaves through the back door, and is able to hide from the commotion. She then decides to make a run for it. She tries to walk out of the village. 

12. She manages to get out of the gates, but is caught

13. Claudia brought to Peter’s bedroom; he explains she shouldn’t try to run because she’ll never make it; he then tells her how much he’d like a son but he’s considered too old to impregnate ; and that today is her marriage day according to his new rules; then offers here a deal: marry them or marry me - you’ve got by noon to decide

14. Leo gets Nick out of his chains and walks him towards the village gates ; We see Thomas trailing them. 

15. Claudia walked back to her room by Erica. She is devastated. It's a near miss between Claudia and Nick - each walked by an aryan guard (Nick by Leo, Claudia by Erica) on the same road but to opposite directions They do not see each other. 

16. before exiting Leo pushes Nick into a side alley and gives him local clothes to wear. We realize this was a plan Leo already told Nick about last night

17. Claudia, in her room. Maria comes and tells her she is Leo’s sister, and that he sent her

18. Leo and Nick walk towards finding Claudia, Thomas still trailing them behind but they do not notice. 

19. Thomas diverts towards offices, to sneetch on them, he calls his friends but at the very last second Leo diverts his friends attention while Nick takes the guy down. apparently they did know he was there behind them.

20. (Saturday noon) Maria delivers Peter a message from Claudia that she will marry him

21. Claudia is being dressed for marriage, skips the drug water they are giving her

22. The village is humming with excitement for the ceremony ; Peter is getting ready, making drug portions and drinks it

23. With Maria’s help Nick manages to see Claudia for a brief moment. Tells her he’ll come and get her as soon as he’s able. Both are not sure this is true

1. (Saturday 3:45pm) Claudia on the main stage ; Peter explains to his people why he is marrying ; some commotion in crowed ; Claudia manages to spot her father hiding in the crowd 

2. Nick and Leo hide in the crowd but cannot reach Claudia ;  They see some commotion from the side office - a few guys looking for Thomas. They are now coming towards where Leo and Nick are. Nick clearly is not fitting-in compared to the others, starting to get some funny looks. It seems like the village is about to close down on them. 

3. Peter takes Claudia up to his room, she reacts frantically, trying to resist shouting “dad, dad!!”, looking to find him in the crowd but he is no longer there.

4. Peter and his helpers force Claudia naked; Erica confronts Peter about what he is doing “why break the rules, am I not enough for you?”. Peter slaps her - know your place woman!, she leaves the room

5. Claudia seems to break ; Peter brings he to her knees for oral sex ; sees Nick who slams his face with a wooden log 

6. Nick, Claudia and Leo escaping the village. Getting off the long stairs of Peter’s compound. On their way out they encounter Erica, Leo neutralizes her.

7. Leo and Nick each hold Claudia (as if a prisoner), Nick with his head down and a ritual mask on his face. They encounter the two guys that were looking for Thomas before. They are intrigued to learn where they are going, and who is the guy under the mask.

8. The main annoying guy gets more intrigued, who is it ? “Etgar, is that you? “ he now gets closer to Nick, holds him by the shoulder and turns him around pulling the mask, surprised to see Nick. Before he can react, he gets a knife in the back (Leo from behind). The other guy, terrified, turns around and starts running. The group continue running towards the gate.

9. (Saturday 4:30pm) Leo, Claudia and Nick, running out through the gate. There is no one there to pick them up and odds are completely against them. Some of the villagers (of the outside village) are looking at this with interest.

10. Peter regains consciousness and sounds the alarm 

11. Our group hears the alarm and double their paste, the local villagers now start to gather around them. Just as it looks like they’re being cornered,

12. Shena and two villagers (from other village) arrive at the very last minute, picks them up and they take off towards a meeting point where a helicopter is set to pick them up at 6pm 

13. group of Aryans on bikes and weapons come raging out of the village

14. shots fired, Nick’s rider falls off his horse. Nick, face bloody, is panicking and not good with the horse. He stays behind as the group continues.

15. Erica arrives on a motorcycle just about Leo. She throws a hook catching Leo by the shoulder, he falls off the horse and is being dragged on the ground with rope attached to the raging motorcycle. Erica corners his rider and they get off course. 

16. Nick is considerably behind, but can see what is happening in the distance. He now rides more frantically, mumbling to himself “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry” and shouts “Claudia!!”. 

17. Erica speeds up towards a wide turn and releases the hook, sending Leo flying off the cliff. Just then Shena gets a clean shot, hitting Erica in the chest and she goes flying off the cliff too. 

18. Shena and Claudia on the horse keep ahead at full speed. They reach a rope bridge and go through it by foot. Claudia keeps looking back shouting to her dad that is now getting closer with his horse. Shena pulls her to advance, “they’re almost there, it’s almost 6 ocklock, they can’t stop now!” they disappear behind a big rock.

19. Nick arrives at the rope bridge, gets off, he is clearly afraid of heights, manages to go through most of it, gets shot and falls hanging for dear life. More shots coming his direction just when Shena arrives and fires back, holding off the shooters, offers her hand pulling him up and dragging him to safety behind a big rock, directly next to where their meeting point is set for the helicopter.

20. Claudia runs to her injured dad, while Shena keeps shooting at the attackers. Nick and Claudia have a heart to heart conversation. Nick apologizes for everything he’s ever done wrong, Claudia forgives and is in full acceptance of her “reborned” father. complete closer between them. 

21. (Saturday 6pm) The helicopter arrives - Sanjee is piloting, Nick urges the girls to get on and stays behind to cover for them

22. Shena realizes Nick is not going to make it. She picks Claudia up and they run towards the helicopter. Aryans are closing in on Nick

1. (Saturday 6pm) girls in the helicopter, Claudia hysterical, Aryans are advancing, Nick out of ammunition urging them to take off

2. Shena signals Sanjee to take off ; 

3. Nick goes out with his hands up towards the raging Aryans ; They surround him ; Peter with a gun to Nick’s head looks up towards escaping Claudia 

4. (Saturday night) Nick is tied in basement, tortured by Peter

5. Sanjee, Claudia and Shena back at Sanjee’s cabin ; 

6. Shena takes the rental car to go get help from Rishikesh ; 

7. Setup shots of Anna at her community home in Hamburg She gets a phone call. 

8. Claudia calls her mom, crying, telling her she’s been through hell, her mom knows all about Spiti Valley, in great urgency she tells Claudia to get to Mumbai to this and that hotel, I’m coming.

9. Maria now also brought down to the dungeon, to be tortured alongside Nick 

10. Aryans make their way into Sanjee’s cabin and kidnap both him and Claudia in their sleep

11. (Sunday 6am) Peter notifies Nick that Claudia has been caught and on her way back. He accuses Nick that it's all his fault for dirtying pure bloods, but Nick doesn’t have a clue what's that all about

12. Shena arrives to Rishikesh, not getting any help from the local police

13. Sanjee & Claudia transported to the village; just before they get there Sanjee is able to re-route the jeep ramming it into a rock ; after a short struggle Sanjee dies but

14.  Claudia escapes by foot (although a broken ankle from the crash)

15. (Sunday noon) Peter hears of Claudia’s escape 

16. Goes down to dungeon and murders Maria in rage

17. Nick left alone with Maria’s dangling body, he doses in and out of consciousness. Flashback: young Nick’s and Anna’s backstory - Nightmare scenes of Claudia waiting for her failing father ages 6, 16 and 25. He can hear her scream.

18. Claudia on a run, hurt (broken ankle), like a wounded animal, dog barks getting louder

19. Shena at Rishikesh police station is being taken by two government secret services. It's a well organized setup to cover for the Aryan village.

20. Peter leads Nick to a high point in the village, for a public execution, gives his “In the Name of the Aryans” speech.

21. Claudia, at the village gates: “Peter! Take me! You can have me, let my father go!”
